ARA Hôtel accentuates its ecological commitments!
For more than a year, ARA Hôtel has been involved in collecting cigarette butts. In Landerneau, it is estimated that nearly 5 million cigarette butts are thrown away each year, the majority of which end up in the river running through the town. Last year, the hotel was a partner in the collection operation by offering snacks to all participants.
This year, the community wishes to become the first city in France to be labeled “Zero cigarette butt city” by collaborating with the local company MéGo!. In its Ecolabel approach, the hotel also wishes to invest in becoming a “zero cigarette butt establishment”.
“We want to be exemplary. The entire team is committed to this collection and customer awareness action” testifies Ophélie Renaut, manager of the establishment. To do this, new wall ashtrays were installed, as well as visible stickers to communicate the approach. “These ashtrays will be emptied by our teams into airtight collectors. We will decontaminate this waste and recycle it into street furniture” confides the manager of MéGo!.
